In 1981, Foxboro Company developed FoxPro, a professional desktop development environment. It was very similar to KeyCAD. Participants included a convenience sample of 109 Latina/o women (N = 59 English, N = 50 Spanish) who were recruited from four community agencies in Los Angeles. The Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II) and Center for Epidemiologic Studies-Depression scale (CES-D) were used to assess symptoms of depression. The Body Sensations Questionnaire (BSQ) assessed depression-related somatic complaints and the General Health Questionnaire-28 (GHQ-28) assessed somatic complaints and anxiety. A depression model was tested based on a hierarchical regression in which depressive symptoms accounted for 38% of the variance of somatic complaints and anxiety. Body sensations mediated the relationship between depression and somatic complaints and anxiety. Depressive symptoms were significantly related to somatic complaints and anxiety. “I remember a pig in a pork pie;He ate the pork, but left the pie.”

This was the case of Silly Simon the Lamb who died before he grew up. He met his end a few years ago with a Groupon to eat all the food at the London Hilton Hotel.

Silly Simon came from a long line of succulent sausages, hot dogs, ham, bacon and bacon-wrapped sausages. To celebrate his grand entry into the world of food, his proud parents bought him a brand new grocery bag filled with ingredients.

On the opening day of his culinary adventure, Silly Simon put on his chef’s hat, oiled up his face, and dined on a cup of green tea. He nibbled on pâté de fois gras. He enjoyed slices of toast. Then, he made a true culinary statement by sating his appetite with a hamburger.

Silly Simon’s life was a long, happy one. He grew up in the Bahamas and then moved to Jamaica for a few years. He ended up in England where he met his very lovely wife and had a few kids with her. But in the spring of 2009, his gentle life was cut short. He died in the hotel lobby, stuffed into his brand new grocery bag filled with ingredients.

What a way to go! I had planned to go to England to eat his remains and now it looks like I will have to settle for a pancake filled with sausage. It looks like the photo on the left was what I got. It has a green top, a bit of sausage and bacon and a whole lot of pancake. This is a bit too close to my own culinary experience!
