The postDawn SH-009 MonoSynth provides an interface for one-touch operation of the suite of filter envelopes and associated audio algorithms (sine, triangle, sawtooth, noise, hold, noise, delay, and sweep). The interface has no purpose-built controls except for on/off and a master button. The interface is intended to be used with a modular host in which the user can set up to 256 preset configurations of envelopes and associated algorithm.

The module uses the standard name SH-009. What is important is the internal module number. This number does not reflect the compatibility with other software but denotes the identifier for the module in the host software. The host software can assign it any name you desire.

The sound of the SH-009 is rich and deep. Each module has a low noise full-wave-rectified envelope filter. Only a small number of modules are used to create a very rich and complex oscillator. The noise filter makes it possible to integrate a harmonic signal using the enveloped noise filter.
