I have the following String expression:
^[a-zA-Z0-9_-]+$

and I’m wondering if it’s the best way to validate if the String have these characters or if there’s some better way to do it.

There is no difference performance wise between
^[a-zA-Z0-9_-]+$

and
^[\w-]+$

The fact that you have a dash in the middle of your regex doesn’t matter because it will match all characters and the – is a special character, which represents
