Flask — Save multiple’static’ files to memory

I am using the Flask framework to create a web app. What I am trying to do is: I have a “templates” folder in the web root that I would like to use the built-in template engine to render. The reason being, I do not want to include the html files in the git repository.
So I created a python file called “templates.py” in the web root.
what I want to do is be able to call “templates.py” and have it look in the directory and render all the html files.
I can get this to work from the command line by doing:
$ python templates.py app_root/templates

But I am not sure what the proper way to do it with Flask is. What I am thinking is something like:

app = Flask(__name__)

@app.route(‘/’)
def index():
return render_template(‘templates/index.html’)

@app.route(‘/about’)
def about():
return render_template(‘templates/about.html’)
