Beatmania IIDX 20 tricoro wasn’t the first of this title however it was the first to feature the X and Y tricoro button layout. This meant that once you reached the 3rd stage the right tricoro button would be frozen in place at all times. All of the ending sequence were displayed on the main screen in the box art as well including the tablature but it was changed to version 2 in the final release. The use of a custom theme on POP’N ACCEL was inevitable. This is designed to look like the original stylized lace, or Pop’n Tunes peak period. The initial version of this style removed all of the spline wave section as well as most of the noise wave section. Konami never to to this today, which is a shame as this was an excellent looking layout. The removal of the noise wave was an optional feature. It’s likely that the thick note block section and the triangles were intentionally larger than normal for some reason.

POP’N ACCEL’s theme for its “TIC-TOC-TOC” logo was a rather obvious attempt to match the original titled tricoro of beatmania IIDX 20 with the exception that the patterns are different and in the background was a rather ugly horizontal gride.[15] Also POP’N ACCEL’s version of Beatmania IIDX 20 tricoro is missing the platforming sections, instead these are replaced with a Q-button control menu.
