spider-man is a great looking movie that makes the transition to the big screen. the visual effects are phenomenal, with the use of 3d at some points throughout the film making it feel more immersive. there is a great variety of landscapes, which in turn allow the movie to look visually dynamic. the colors from the real world are generally brought into the film, except for some scenes filmed in a studio. the actors also look fantastic, with the exception of a few cgi characters. just as i love spider-man, i love this film for all the little details, like the original line of dialogue for some of the iconic scenes, like the “no, thank you” line in the car. the movie also makes good use of the other characters, especially gwen, who acts as peter’s inner dialogue. there is a great performance by sally field as peter’s aunt may, which has a noticeable impact on the rest of the cast, thanks to her speech about the importance of family. the film also features some impressive choreography from the stunt and fight sequences, which are still fun to watch even with all the cgi. the end of the film also features a fantastic action sequence which is based on the spider-man comics and has great choreography. i was actually surprised to see how effective the film’s effects were.

awesome film, i’ve been waiting for this to come out for a long time, i was really looking forward to it. this is one of my top 3 spiderman films. it has a great story, and an amazing cast. mark webb must have a great idea on how to make a spiderman film. it is dark, but it’s not scary at all. it is a character piece that shows the impact of spidey, and his legacy. it’s a good balance of action, comedy, drama, and humour. a great film that you can enjoy more than just being a superhero film. 5/5.
